How tire pressure affects gas usage

With gas prices going up everyday it is a good idea to try and save money where you can. The easiest way to do this is to properly inflate your tires before taking long trips or simply daily driving. A tire that has the wrong tire pressure for every psi lower than what is recommended it can lower your gas mileage by 0.3 percent. With the price per gallon it is a good idea to save every penny you can when filling up your vehicle. It also is a good safety measure to have properly inflated tires especially when going through rain and other weather conditions. Upstate’s Choice Insurance hopes you keep your tires inflated and are safe on the roads.
