An Upstate Holiday Tradition—the 22nd annual Roper Mountain Holiday Lights—will illuminate the Greenville night sky between Thanksgiving and Dec. 30, 2013. Long after the lights come down, the charitable contributions to the Upstate community continue to benefit and brighten the lives of area children.

A total of 21,088 cars, vans and busses visited the twinkling lights displays in 2012 carrying an estimated number of 85,000+ through this magical holiday event.  In addition to the 1.5 mile drive through the lights, many visitors parked and strolled through an interactive Winter Wonderland with visits to Santa Claus, lighted walking trails, a balloon artist, giant holiday greeting cards, concessions and more.  You can plan to enjoy all of these same features in 2013, and more!

The Rotary Club of Greenville and the Roper Mountain Science Center Association invite you to join us this year at an event that has become a family tradition for many throughout the Upstate.  Roper Mountain Holiday Lights is a great family-oriented event, and entertains people of all ages. In addition to enjoying the magic of Holiday Lights, your admission fees, and the generosity of our sponsors, contribute to funds for multiple charities and educational programming for the Science Center.  The 2012 event generated $130,000 which was distributed to Rotary Charities and the Science Center Association.  Since its beginning in 1992, Roper Mountain Holiday Lights has given back $1,936,000 to the community to help people, organizations, and education here in the Upstate.

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Take the whole family to Nivens Apple Farm. There is activities for everyone to enjoy and although the apples are picked there is plenty to do. Take our advise and take a short ride to the apple farm.

Open Aug. 15 for the season. Normal hours are 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Mondays – Saturdays and 1 – 6 p.m. Sundays. After Oct. 1, the farm closes at 5 p.m.
