Drive Welcome Sand Gnats, Tourists to Fluor Field During 7-Game Homestand, May 27 through June 2nd


After completing a seven-game road trip, the Drive will return home to Downtown Greenville on Monday, May 27th with a seven-game homestand, which kicks off with a three-game series versus the Savannah Sand Gnats, the affiliate of the New York Mets. The Drive will begin a four-game series versus the Asheville Tourists, affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, on Thursday, May 30th. This weeklong homestand is packed with exciting and entertaining promotional themes for fans of all ages!

Fluor Field is home to Memorial Day baseball on Monday, May 27th, with first pitch scheduled for 2:05 PM. For $15 per person, fans will receive a ticket to the game, as well as an all-you-can-eat picnic buffet in the Paladin Plateau Picnic Area, which begins at 12:30 PM. The buffet will feature Memorial Day staples like BBQ, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cole slaw, cookies, sweet tea and lemonade. Enjoy a family-style Memorial Day cookout while leaving the cleanup to the Drive!

Tuesday, May 28th is Anderson Night at Fluor Field, as the Drive celebrates the Anderson community and the significant quality of life advantages it represents for the Upstate. The game begins at 7:05, with a pregame parade featuring Miss Anderson, the Powdersville High School state championship band and the Wren Youth Association sports teams. Honorary roles for the game will be filled by some of Anderson’s finest, including First Pitch by Sheriff John Skipper, Honor Guard by the Anderson Fire Department, National Anthem by the Temple Baptist Church, and the call to Play Ball by Anderson’s beloved Radio.

The three-game series with Savannah wraps up on Wednesday, May 29th at 7:05 as the Drive continue its celebration of Education across the Upstate, with a tip of the hat to Home School parents/teachers and graduates, and the Pauline Glenn Springs elementary school Fitness Challenge program participants. Home school scholar athletes and the fitness challenge award winners will have the opportunity to march around the field in a pregame parade beginning at 6:30. Come recognize everything these home schoolers have accomplished in the classroom and on the field! Blue Cross Blue Shield will be on hand to introduce fans to their new South Carolina BLUE store on Woodruff Road, which will serve the needs of all Blue Cross customers and others who are interested in premium health insurance. Blue Cross Blue Shield will also be handing out fans to keep Drive fans cool at the ballpark. Be sure to spin their prize wheel for a chance to w in great prize packs!

The Drive begin a four-game set with Asheville on Thursday, May 30th at 7:05, when Fluor Field will host its fourth Dollar Drink Night of the season. For just $1, fans of all ages can purchase 12 ounce Pepsi products at any of the concession stands along the concourse. The 500 Club, featuring $1 cans of PBR and live entertainment, is the place to be for young professionals to socialize, build relationships, and network at Downtown Greenville’s favorite gathering place.

Don’t miss Friday Fireworks on Friday, May 31st! The Drive’s spectacular postgame fireworks show is always a hit at Fluor Field! Friday is also 90’s Night, as you’ll hear all your favorite music from the 1990’s, including Matchbox Twenty, Hootie and the Blowfish, Sheryl Crow, Will Smith and many more! Friday’s game will begin at 7:05.

Look out for Team Ghost Ride rs on Saturday, June 1st at 7:05, as this exciting, fast-paced act of sheep dog-riding monkeys makes its Fluor Field debut. Team Ghost Riders has been a hit at ballparks all across the country, and you’ll see why, as it combines the jungle and the rodeo arena to bring the Wild West to life!

The homestand concludes on Sunday, June 2nd with a 4:05 first pitch for Youth Baseball Day, presented by Bradshaw Automotive, which will celebrate youth baseball across the Upstate. Teams in attendance are encouraged to wear their uniforms and will be able to participate in a pregame parade at 3:30. In addition, teams will be recognized on DriveVision and the PA system, and they will be invited to run the bases after the game.
